I am Sumith Akunuri, I am sharing my experience reflecting on my participation in «ChatPro» – Promoting positive body image and health youth exchange. Even prior to reaching Hondarribia, a profound sense of connection blossomed among the diverse group of participants I encountered on planes and buses. Despite hailing from various corners of Europe, our shared passions forged an instant bond.
Engaging in workshops, discussions, and movement sessions prompted deep contemplation on the significance of cultivating a positive self-image. The late-night conversations, the laughter echoing through meals, and collectively tackling challenges wove a tapestry of strong connections. We evolved into a supportive community, comprehending the intricate link between our bodies and minds.
Undoubtedly, the pinnacle of the entire week was the «Rice of the World» event! Here, we celebrated our diverse cultures through the universal language of music, the richness of our cuisines, and the captivating narratives of our respective homelands. I was delighted to know that the Indian cuisine I have cooked – “Hyderabadi Biryani” was savored by so many, becoming a delicious ambassador of my culture.
In the end, my departure was marked by a heart brimming with fulfillment and a resolute commitment to propagate the message of positive body image. The Body Project transcended its label as a mere project; it became a transformative experience, and I take immense pride in being a part of it.
Here are some interesting and lovely moments captured:
